Synopsis

Kincaid Bayberry has been serving with the Eta unit since coming of age and only recently feels like he’s a true warrior. With Kendrick’s help, his magic seems to be cooperating for once, and he’s making a difference. But, with a mate on the way and so much at stake, he knows that even a single mistake could result in tragedy, which has skyrocketed his anxiety. So, when the queen needs someone to head to the human world and away from the chaos, he volunteers. Humans he could handle. Or so he thought. Zadie Williams loves her profession but hates her job. All of her ideals revolving around shaping young minds has been eroded by years of bureaucratic and political red tape. Working late into the evening, she meets someone who offers her a chance to do what she has been dreaming of. She just has to be brave enough to take that step forward. As danger closes in all around them, will two people doing their very best be enough to make a difference?
